Simply IN LOVE~ Minnehaha House Rehab Addict

I am IN LOVE!!!
Nicole from the DIY Networks Rehab Addict renovated this Beauty!
It seriously would be my dream home, and I would buy it in a split second if I had the $! I LOVE old homes, and this one has all the charecter one could ever imagine. She did such a splended job with restoring everything back to its origional glory. That is what she does, and she has such a talent for it! Original is always classic....timeless and I love that about her work.
I would love to model My Home from this one! At least the interior:-) I would not change a thing...{well, maybe a different color floor, and a little less ornate living room fireplace, since the Minnehaha house fireplace is a one of a kind } but thats all:-) Even the staging was done awesomely!...{.hmmm is that a word "Awesomely"?}
Check it out! This episode is DVRD forever on my machine!

LOVE the french doors!

These style windows are to DIE for! And are not these chairs awesome?

And now, the kitchen. A little awkward layout, but who cares...when your floors are MARBLE! LOVE LOVE white kitchens!

Lovin, the all white, with a dash of black accents like the hardware on the cabinets and windows!

I love these windows!

EVERY gal needs a changing room like THIS!! Look at that bench! It stores like 100 shoes!

Another view...Love the ruffle pillow on this cool houndstooth fabric chair.

Master bedroom, looking into the dressing area. Loovin the fireplace:-) Oh and I love the pleated duvet cover on this bed! I need one of those...hmmm...maybe I'll make one:-)

All marble tile bath. And just look at that cute curtain! Hmmm looks like something I have in my kitchen!lol. What GREAT taste!lol

Yeah...I could never afford all marble...but It is SO beautiful!

So pretty and classic old school! Early 1900's. LOVE!

Pretty door and side windows!

  5. They're replaying this home renovation on DIY. So glad I found the finished photos Lauren. I am in awe of her vision for these beautiful old homes. She's just a little spitfire and I get exhausted watching her. I agree Catherina, if I only had the money I'd have a home like this. New "McMansions" hold NO interest for me.

    1. Just started DVR series on this. Nicole projects she would push the selling price to over 800 if she finishes the basement into a guest room and family room. Sorry for her that it didnt happen. Makes me wonder if she lost ( or didnt cover costs ) .

  7. I lived in that house for more than 12 years starting in 1957 with a family of six. To my eye, most of the functionality of the original has been sacrificed to make it look like a current trendy decorator magazine spread. Very little of the original is left. NOT a restoration, NOT a renovation. Remade into something completely new.

  8. Maybe in 1957 you were living with something that was already (40 years old) and modified from the original 1916 version. She restored it to 1916 not 1950s.

  10. I also love this show....she has such great insight and energy. Do you happen to know where in Minneapolis she shops for original items taken out of houses? We have a home in Monticello, built in 1918 and I'd love to know the source. Thank you.

  12. As someone who also restored a 1920's era house by myself, I have to say I found useful, practical advice in every one of her episodes. I was most impressed that she doesn't do stupid, staged events to create drama like the other house flipping shows. But what I really want to know is if she is dating the guy who bought the house?

  14. Just saw this show for the first time. Love it! Unfortunately it ended with the episode where she only shows one of the original owners and a couple more. Never saw when it sold so I googled it hoping to find episodes online. Great Blog! Sorry to see she only sold it for $610. Awesome house! I'm 38 and love everything antique! Mom always said I was an "Old Soul"!
